About the Artist

k ritt jewelry is the product of many years of travel, artistic training and education by its designer, Kim Rittberg. Kim recalls her first handmade pieces of jewelry made of plastic beads and sequins at the age of seven. Since then, she has graduated onto using semi-precious stones and gold. In that time, she's also learned to tie her shoelaces.

Kim has traveled extensively, including a year-long trip around the world through the Asia Pacific region and Western Europe. Though she still cannot successfully imitate an Australian accent, Kim has been permanently affected by the different cultures, art and people in each region she encountered. The brilliance of Asian silk embroidery, the architecture within Ireland's landscape, and the decorative design of Moorish Spain all left indelible marks on Kim and further fueled her artistic desires.

The accumulation of Kim's experiences has created the artistic theories inherent in the k ritt jewelry line, such as individuality, a relationship to the wearer, asymmetry, color and balance. Kim received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania where she studied Art History, Communication and Spanish. Trained in the fine arts and in jewelrymaking at places as varied as USDAN, Long Island Art League, and NOVA Contemporary Jewelry in Thailand, Kim combines years of fine arts training with her analytical art studies to create k ritt's unique look.

k ritt jewelry ensures the wearer will never be another face in the crowd!
